Ramírez Misa Criolla
Canterbury Choral Society steps out in a break with tradition singing Ariel Ramirez Misa Criolla and Navidad Nuestra, two evocative works from Argentina accompanied by guitars, piano and percussion, full of Spanish dance influence and rhythmic and melodic colours. Other works will include Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs and Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, set to Hindu texts. Ramirez Misa Criolla will be an evening of diversity which will appeal to audience members who like to hear something ‘a bit different’, catchy and engaging with music embodying popular style combined with the traditional. Step into our world!
